Sort of off from my usual topics, but just wanted to jot down somethings that have been on my mind lately.
1) I couldn't live without my family.
I love them so much. They've been there for me through everything. I don't know what I'd be without them. I've learned to much from living with them. They correct me, help me change, and encourage me when times are hard. I wish there was some way I could repay them for everything they have done for me.
2) I absolutely love my friends.
Another where would I be without you? My friends are my angels. They support me and help me more than they know. It's amazing how much they do for me. I hope I can be the kind of friend and show the kind of love that they have shown me. I love you guys!
3) I am extremely lucky.
Read the above. And I'll add that I have been blessed to have amazing teachers, fantastic opportunities, and talents that I love using, along with all of the people I love.
4) I have so much to be thankful for.

A Great Year for Animation
Ok, I have got to say that 2010 had some of the best animated films come out during that year then there have been for along time. I don't normally jump up and down over animated movies, but, boy, I got sucked into them this year. We had How to Train Your Dragon, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, Megamind, and Tangled. Those were some great films! I mean, 2009 had some animated hits, but they did not come close to those that came out this last year. Compare Ice Age; Dawn of the Dinosaurs to How to Train Your Dragon. Dragon soars over Dinosaurs, no question. And Up was a very cute film and one that I really enjoyed, but the story is not equal to some of these others.
If I were to list 2010's animated films in order of my preference, this would be the order:
1. How to Train Your Dragon
2. Megamind
3. Tangled
4. Despicable Me
5. Toy Story 3
How to Train Your Dragon is my favorite because of its plot, depth, and characters. It is a story for both young and old. The characters are relatable and, for the most part, aren't stereotypes. I really loved the story. It was sweet, exciting, heartwarming, and fun. The script was awesome and the animation was fantastic! Plus, I absolutely loved the score. I could listen to it over and over again. All of this combined made How to Train Your Dragon my favorite animated movie of the year, and, quite possibly, my favorite movie of the entire year. It's funny, because I wasn't all that excited to see it. My best friend's little brother wanted to see it and she was going with him. I just wanted to spend time with my friend and I wasn't all that happy about the movie, but I went and within the first five minutes, I was loving it. I convinced my family to see it and then lost track of how many times I saw it in the theater after that. I even went to see it on my very first date. I was very happy when we got it for Christmas.
Megamind was another show I wasn't extremely anxious to see. I thought the trailers looked rather cheesy. I didn't see it until it reached the dollar theater. My family had a free evening and we decided to go see a movie. We didn't realize that Megamind was on its first weekend there, so the crowd was crazy. I was hoping it was worth the lines and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I was surprised by how much I liked it. We don't get to see the bad guys perspective very often and the villian's viewpoint was pretty awesome. I really liked the character development in this movie. Each character changed and grew, for the better, or the worse. There was conflict, humor, tears, action, and love. What made this movie worthy of supervillian status? Presentation!
Tangled is absolutely amazing! I didn't see it until very recently, but I love it. It is such a clever twist on a very famous story and is worthy to be listed with the Disney Princess films. The script was very clever and fun. The movie had balanced action and emotion. The characters, especially Flynn Rider and Rapunzel, were a joy to watch and you really come to care about them a great deal. I'll admit it, this movie made me cry. I wasn't sobbing, but I definitely had tears in my eyes. By the end of the movie I was humming songs from it and as soon as I got home I started listening to them over and over again on the internet. "I See the Light" has made its way into my heart. I was taken away by it while watching the film. It's been awhile since a movie had a really beautiful love song in it. I'm really glad I finally got around to seeing Tangled.
Despicable Me was also a very pleasant surprise. I was afraid that all the best parts had been put in the trailers, because they were so funny. I mean, how many trailers have a line like "IT'S SO FLUFFY!" ? But the show was very cute and I really enjoyed it. Again, it had a great mix of humor and heart. The reason it didn't make it further up on my list is simply because I liked characters in the other movies better. Don't get me wrong, I loved these characters as well, but I didn't relate to them as well. But I did absolutely love this movie. The three little girls are adorable and so funny. Gru is hilarious and so sweet, especially for a villian. And then there are the Minions! Ha ha ha ha!!!! :D Enough said. :) This is another one we got for Christmas.
Toy Story 3 was not my favorite movie. I did like it, but at the same time there were a lot of things I didn't like very much. There was almost too much action in it for my taste. I would have liked to see more character development. It seemed like everyone was constantly running away and then getting caught again. It got on my nerves. Of course, there were things I loved about it too. I loved seeing the characters I've loved since I was little back on the screen, but I think that is one of the things that disappointed me. The fact that I have loved them and that when I was little I felt like they were real, like my toys would get up and start doing things, made me wish the movie had shown me more depth inside the toys. I wanted to come away loving them more than I did when I started watching the film. Instead, I felt like I needed to go back and find out why I loved them so much in the first place. It also felt like a repeat of somethings we'd seen in the previous Toy Stories. Spanish Buzz, of course, was hilarious and I loved that, along with tortilla potato head. It was great to see Woody be a hero again. And I did still love the toys. And older Andy was definitely awesome, from a teenage girls perspective. I admit that I cried in this movie as well. Overall, I really liked it.
So, yes, I love these films! They are spectacular movies and ones that I will love forever. It is so nice to watch films that reach all ages and are both fun and heartwarming. I've watched them with my teenage friends at late night parties, with my little friends, and with my family. No matter who I'm watching them with, I always enjoy them. Thanks to the amazingly creative people who made them. This was definitely a great year for animation!

Bye 2010, Hello 2011
I'm completely retarded and haven't written anything for an extremely long time. But I just thought I should drop by my own blog now that 2011 has started. I really should get on here more often.
It's kind of hard to believe that 2010 is over and we are already 4 days in 2011, which, by the way, I like writing more than 2010. 2011 is easier to type. :) 2010 was a good year, as well as being extremely difficult and hard. I had pnuemonia, mono, and a bunch of other problems throughout the year, but I made some amazing friends and memories.
And I just gotta say that this first couple of days this year have been pretty amazing. New years day was awesome. We went to the house of some of our good friends and it was seriously the most fun new years day I remember.
And then, check this, I found out today that I get to choreograph a section of dancing in our big fundraiser choir concert. And I'm choreographing the Cats section! Isn't that awesome? So now I've been in Cats and I get to do some of it again! I'm really excited. I'm sure it will be hard. This kind of things are always difficult, but the hardest things are the things that we remember most, that change us, that stick with us forever. That's what being Cats did for me last time. Now, I can help other people have a good experience with it and spread some of the joy that it brought me. At least, I hope I can. Cross your fingers for me!

Utah Regional History Fair Competition 2010
My sisters and I competed in History Fair this year with a documentary. Yesterday we went to our regions competition. It was long and somewhat tedious. But we had really good judges. Lakeridge Jr. High won a ton of prizes. It was great to see how happy all of the students were who won. My sisters and I won first place in the Senior Documentary category. That means we are moving on to the Utah State competition! Whoot!

Preparing for Percy
Coming soon! On February 12 at 12:01 PM. And guess who's going to be there. Yep! Yours truly! I've got a ticket for the first showing. I am soooo excited!My best friend, my little sister, and I are going together. My friend and I got matching Percy Jackson shirts and they are so awesome! We promised not to wear them until the midnight showing. I've reread the series again. I'll probably reread Lightning Thief one more time before I go see the movie.
Today we went to a Percy Jackson release party at the book store. It was mostly for little kids but it was still fun. We got to read the first chapter of Rick Riordan's new series. The first book is coming out in March. It sounded pretty good. It doesn't have anything to do with Percy Jackson. I don't think it will be quite as good as the Percy Jackson series is, but it will still probably be pretty good. The first chapter was pretty interesting. I'd like to read the whole book when it comes out. At, the party, I won a Percy Jackson poster and a few collectors cards, one of Percy and one of Poseidon.
The director, Chris Columbus, changed the age of the characters. In the book they are twelve. In the movie they are seventeen. A lot of fans are angry about it, but I agree with the director. He says that some of the things the kids say in the books didn't sound like something a twelve year old would say. I think he's right. Raising the ages of the kids doesn't really bother me that much. The director says he is also making the fight things scarier, where in the book they were funny and sometimes silly. I think this could be an improvement if they are done well.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie. I hope it is good and that it will be worth the wait. I only have a few more days to wait!

Utah State Junior Honor Choir
I was lucky enough to participate in this years Utah State Junior Honor Choir under the direction of Dr. Broomhead. It was a lot of fun and I got to meet a lot of really cool people from different schools.
Dr. Broomhead is an amazing directer. He worked us hard. He made us sound good. I was really happy with him. It was a lot of hard work, but it was all worth it. He is an amazing man and I was extremely pleased to work with him.
There were a ton of people there and they were all amazing singers. There was so much talent! I was so blessed to work with so many people that were all so wonderful. They all worked very hard to do what Dr. Broomhead asked us to do.
I had a solo in one of the songs that we performed called Dancing Tree. It was really nerve racking and I wasn't sure if I could do it. I did, however. I don't know if it sounded any good. Everyone complemented me afterword, but you can never tell if they are just being polite. Dr. Broomhead seemed really pleased, so that made me feel really good. He really is a terrific guy.
It was amazing because, not only did I make a lot of new friends, but I was also reunited with one of my older friends. He moved in sixth grade and I haven't seen him since. But he was there and we were able to say hi. It was great to see him again. He was one of my best friends. We've talked since and it was really easy and fun. I was so glad that he was there.
I am so thankful that I was able to participate in this choir. The choir was amazing, the students were fun and encouraging, and everyone worked really hard. It was a wonderful experience and I will never forget it!
Beauty and the Beast Results
I got cast in our school play! I'm really excited. I'm playing one of the silly girls, the girls that are obsessed with Gaston. It should be a lot of fun. My little sister was cast as well. She is also a silly girl. It will be really fun to work with her. We've been in shows together before, but we haven't actually been on stage together much because we always have parts that are never together. It will be awesome to act with her. I think I'll be in some of the dance numbers. I love dancing on stage so that should be great. Some of my good friends were cast and I'm looking forward to acting with them. I can't wait to start rehearsals!
